SEO (Search Engine Optimization) - Traffic To Your Site
If one of your goals for your website is to rank in search engine results to get more visitor traffic, then you should turn your website into an SEO website meaning, optimize it and use search engine optimization techniques. This is your lucky day as I will give you different ways on how you can turn your website into an SEO website; all you need to do is read and use it on your website if applicable.
When building your SEO website, you need to make sure that all the content in the SEO website is read easily by search engine spiders. A good SEO website will have quality content even in the headings, titles, paragraphs and links. Content is what spiders look for and this is something you need to be prioritizing. Websites that have little content tend to struggle getting hits in search results.
You also need to make sure that your URL is very search friendly. Nowadays, SEO websites include keywords in URLs to show the content of the webpage. Sometimes, CM's will automatically generate their own code for your web pages and this is something you'd want to avoid. A good content management system will help you make your own URL to make your web pages more appealing. Further, if you have web pages that you don't want to be indexed in search engines, make sure you block them. These pages are mostly used for testing designs on the websites. You don't want this to get indexed at all, if I were you, make use of a local web development environment for your testing purposes.
You should also make use of proper heading tags. It will look more information on the heading tags of your web pages. Most of the time they will even look prioritize headings tags before the text in your web pages. Next, make sure the images you are using have alt attributes. To be W3C-compliant, your image alt attributes should be 100%. Search engines can read alt attributes and can even add your images in search engine results rankings in the image area.
And lastly, you need to make sure that your web pages are always updated with new content. Search engines like to crawl on SEO websites that have changing content because they are programmed to believe that if the SEO website is changing, it is alive and perfectly alright. And because of this, search engines will like crawling to your SEO website and will help you rank higher.
Know All About SEO Internet Marketing
Good overall optimization, the right keyword phrases and quality content play the key roles in the success of any web design project. Link Popularity and Google PageRank are almost secondary for the overall success of a website.
Here is an example. I recently took advantage of a free service offered by a competing SEO firm. It was for a Free Keyword Analysis. Sounds like a great deal, we charge $129 for the service and it's almost a give-away. I wanted to see what they were offering for free so I inserted the URL of one of our clients, fkpfishing.net in the form, added my personal e-mail address and hit enter.
When I received the e-mail results a couple days later (quick by any standard) I was told that the site's link popularity is very low and that it is not optimized for the keyword "float tube" as well as it should be. They also informed me that the site's Google PageRank is only 4/10.
Link popularity of course refers to the amount of links that are around the web that point back to your site. I was told "there are only 192 sites that link to yours, according to Google's database" and they searched for "float tube" and it did not bring any top 10 results on Google search or Yahoo Search. Actually it is #16 on Google for that keyword.
First off I know a top 10 listing is every ones goal The major search engines drive over 85% of traffic to web sites, and only 7% of search engine users go past the first page of results, so properly optimizing a site for a top ten ranking on the search engines for your keyword phrase is essential to a business' online success.
Now the reason I bring this up first is to point out how easy it is to make a mistake. While I appreciate the effort put in by this firm, wasted as it was, they didn't do their job, free or otherwise. When you offer "keyword analysis" The first thing you should do is check the "keywords" meta tag on the assigned site to see what the site owner perceives to be important. You should also take at least a few minutes to look over the site and see what it offers the viewers and who the target audience is.
Had they done so it would have been obvious that the keyword phrase "float tube fishing" was the optimum target and they would have found top 10 ratings on both search sites. (#6 and #2 respectively) In fact the second key word phrase in the meta tags "floattube fishing" (one of the most common misspelled fishing term on the internet) also comes in as #2 on Google and #1 on Yahoo. This misspelling was a mistake made by a typo a few years ago but fortunately it is a spelling error made by 1000's of fishermen on a regular basis and our client has been able to capitalize on it.
The overall optimization of the entire FKP Fishing website for those two keyword phrases was the #1 goal of the project.
Secondly, while we try very hard to get a high PageRank by Google for our clients it is only part of the Net24's "Equation of Success." Remember, Google is the only search engine that puts so high a value on page rank. Yahoo & MSN use page content. That is why we believe Content is King! Google may someday change its algorithms and drop page rank all together or lessen its impact on the equation but content will always be included in the formula.
Quality content can do more for a site's success than 10,000 Mickey Mouse links and a PageRank of 7/10. If a viewer does not stay on your site long enough to look at more than 2 or 3 pages either your navigation is bad or your content is not what it should be and your site is in trouble. Search engines may direct them to your site but your page layout and content will keep them there longer and bring them back!
Overall website optimization is what we call the Net24 "Equation of Success". The four part equation is simple. Good website design + good title, description and keyword meta tags + quality content + "old Fashion" hand search engine submission = more repeat visitors. Which in turn will bring the good link partners looking for you and ultimately result in a successful overall search engine ranking and your success.
In conclusion, while luck may have played a small part in the keyword placement for FKP Fishing's search rankings, good overall optimization and quality content played the key roles in the success of the project.
Note: A year ago I corrected what I perceived as a mistake in FKP's keywords and got back on track with the correct spelling and have achieved good results. FKP Fishing now has a Google PageRank of 6/10 and is in the top 5 of all major search engines results for its targeted keywords. Ironically the misspelled "word phrase" continues to bring a good 25% of that sites search traffic. To this day we continue to include the misspelling scattered in articles and always include it in the meta tags.
SEO Marketing From the Best SEO Service Providers
Not too long ago, search engine optimization seemed like just another buzz-phrase to get company executives to pay through the nose for their new Internet ad campaign. Nowadays, SEO is pretty much standard for any website looking to actually make its presence known. If you're a website owner looking to improve your profile or a business owner planning to set up an online presence, then learning search engine optimization tips and tricks is a great way to kick things off.
To start, let us define SEO. Search engine optimization originally covered a set of techniques for improving the quality of links returned by search engines. In other words, SEO was originally meant to help provide better-quality links for search engine users. However, due to the extremely competitive nature of marketing on the internet, marketers began turning these tools into their own.
Whereas a search engine uses SEO to refine its analyses and results, marketers and webmasters use SEO to make their websites rank higher in the search results. These cover different sets of techniques that work on the same principles - that of delivering what looks like good-quality links for the users that put in their queries.
The fundamental element of SEO is keywords. Keywords are simply words, or in some cases phrases, that relate to the topic or nature of the webpage. Nearly every word can be a keyword, reflecting the vast variety of topics and interests on the internet. However, different keywords will have different popularities, even if they are referring to the same things. "Diamonds" is a far more likely term than "sparkly clear jewels", even though they essentially mean the same thing.
For marketers, choosing the right keywords to use requires research, which is now made easier by search engine companies releasing access to such research tools. More importantly though is the judicious insertion of the chosen keywords into the webpages of interest. Your website's SEO lives or dies with the right research and application of keywords.
Another aspect that many new website owners overlook is metadata. Metadata is data describing the website or webpage that is not shown on-screen. In reality, it is easy to read and edit this data, but because it is not readily apparent, it is overlooked. Search engine components called crawlers or spiders access metadata in addition to the actual webpage content. When you can set your webpage's metadata correctly, your webpage will get a significant boost in its rating.
Aside from its own value, a webpage's value is also affected by how many other people value it, and one measure of this is the amount of linkage - or how many other webpages have links leading to the webpage in question. A large number of links leading to a webpage means that the target webpage contains valuable information as acknowledged by its popularity, because people share what they feel is helpful. Increasing the links leading to your webpage via affiliate marketers, partners, and other means is one way to get a massive SEO boost.
These are just at the tip of the iceberg; there are lots more search engine optimization tips!
